Overview

Russ McLaughlin is a Director of Dooley Gembala McLaughlin Pecora. He counsels individuals and families to help determine how to best preserve, manage, safeguard, and distribute their assets. His confidential planning services may include wills, trusts, guardianship designations, healthcare power of attorney, and transfer on death designations, for example, to capture the needs and objectives of the parties involved.

Probate matters may be arduous and stressful. Russ guides Executors and Trustees through the process of administering, settling, and distributing an estate. Given Russ’ knowledge of real estate law, he’s able to oversee that probate property is transferred in accordance with the decedent’s wishes.

Russ has served as a Director of the Firm since 2001, guiding it through it’s growth in Sheffield Village, Medina, and Vermilion, Ohio.

  • Acting Judge in the Avon Lake and Lorain Municipal Courts
  • Law Director for the City of Avon
  • Special Counsel for the cities of Avon and Elyria
  • Counsel to the Avon Charter Review Commission

A resident of Avon, Ohio, Russ has been an instructor at local colleges. He’s taught real estate law and business law courses at the Lorain County Community College, the Lorain Business College, and the Ohio Paralegal Institute. He is also a requested presenter at legal bar association seminars on topics related to probate and estate planning.
