John D. Wheeler

John Wheeler has a thorough knowledge of criminal law, evidence and courtroom procedure combined with an ability to reach an audience, proven by numerous successful criminal and civil jury trials, as well as two successful political campaigns, over a period of more than 30 years.
He started out as the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney with the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office. He also served as the Prosecutor for the City of Westlake, and in 2005 he was elected as the Law Director and Chief Prosecutor of City of Westlake where he served for five years. He currently serves as the Amherst City Prosecutor.
Residing in Auburn Township, Ohio with his wife, Lori, he is currently attending John Carroll University to obtain a Masters Degree in Humanities.
John received his B.A. (English) from Bowling Green State University in 1974 and a J.D. (Cum Laude) from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1977. He is admitted to practice law in State of Ohio and the United District Court of Ohio.
