Jim Blaszak

Jim Blaszak launched his career in 1962 as a real estate title examiner and progressed to become the company’s branch manager. This early experience gave him the foundation and knowledge to establish his own title insurance company.
While working in the real estate industry, Jim also attended Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where he earned his law degree in 1970. His private practice addressed matters focused primarily on real estate including:
- Commercial transactions
- Residential closings
- Zoning and subdivision matters
- Appropriations - Eminent domain disputes
- Shopping center leases
During these years, he focused on the real estate industry and represented:
- Homebuilders
- Developers
- Lenders
- Realtors
Jim is a former Law Director for the City of Elyria. He also served the city in administrative capacities including roles as chair of the Board of Zoning Appeals, member of the Board of Building Standards, and a member of the Parks and Recreation Board.
Today, Jim has been practicing law for more than 50 years. The Ohio Bar Association honored Jim for this achievement. Jim joined Dooley Gembala McLaughlin Pecora in January 2024 to initiate and lead the firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution practice group.

Accomplishments
Jim was honored by the Ohio State Bar Association in 2020 for achieving 50 years in the practice of law.
He is frequently requested to be a lecturer/presenter for CLE-approved legal seminars.
Jim was the valedictorian of the 1962 class of Cathedral Latin School.
